Company and Personal Insurance Liability?
I have a pre-employment DMV check and have three driving offenses (within 3 years – 2xSpeeding 1xAccident at fault). Prior to the 3 years I have a few more speeding tickets and another accident. The job requires 40% driving with a company car. I’m afraid that they will not hire me based on my DMV record. Is there a way to transfer liability from the business to myself..? Possibly driving my own car with some sort of extended insurance that relieves liability off of the company? What can I do to avoid the company from not hiring me based on my record?
How much would picking up commercial coverage cost?… Rough est please? Also the current accident will drop off in october and it’s been over a yera since my last ticket.
You are probably screwed with getting a job there then. Trying to get additional coverage for business driving with your record on your own will be a HUGE amount.
Cheaper to have an attorney look at your past record and try to get some points off some how. Not cheap and time consuming.
First thing to realize is that your "DMV record" is a good indicator to insurance companies and to future employers as to what kind of person you are behind the wheel. Change that record and you’ll appear to be a much more likely candidate to them.

Find a job that does not require you to drive for them!

I don’t know any company that could provide you with a company car with that driving record. They cannot transfer liability to you, since they need commercial coverage, not just regular auto insurance.
My best advice- look for a different job.
